"Stuck in the Diaz Awards" is the twentieth and final episode in Season 2 of Stuck in the Middle and the thirty=seventh episode overall. It first aired on October 27, 2017, to 1.31 million viewers.[1]
Summary[]
It's the annual family awards night celebrating the best, worst, funniest and most Diaz‐y moments of the past year.[2]
Plot[]
It's the 5th Annual Diaz Awards ceremony. Every year, the Diaz family has an award show to recognize the most epic moments. Winners in each category get trophies. The family member who gets most awards wins the Diaz of the Year award which comes with bragging rights. Daphne won last year. Everyone is well dressed for the awards, especially Rachel who keeps changing her outfit every few minutes. Each award is presented by a member of the family which involves reading the award title, followed by flashback clips for all the nominations, then a declaration of the winner based on votes.
Harley is hoping to finally win something this year but her chances don't look so good. Georgie - who has been stuck handcuffed in a magic box the whole day - comforts Harley telling her that she deserves to win Diaz of the year because of all her creativity and everything she's done for the family. Harley tells Georgie that she's used to being unnoticed, but she admits to the camera that you never get used to it. She finally starts winning some awards in the "Best Thing Mom and Dad Didn't See" category where she rallied her siblings to hide an exchange student in their house in Stuck with a Guy on the Couch. Suzy still punishes her for it. After that, Harley starts winning more and more trophies until she's actually the lead, with only two more awards left. Unfortunately, Lewie and Beast winning the remaining two and tying with Harley.
As the rest of the family is celebrating Lewie and Beast, Harley feels crushed. She sadly goes to her room and hides there. Ethan comes over to comfort her and invite her back downstairs. They reveal that they've made a special trophy just for Harley to acknowledge everything she's done for them. Harley is relieved that all her hard work doesn't go unnoticed.
