"Stuck in Spring Break" is the tenth episode in Season 3 of Stuck in the Middle and the forty-seventh overall. It first aired on April 6th, 2018, to 1.22 million viewers.
Summary[]
Spring vacation, here the Diazes come! The Diaz’s must deliver a luxury yacht. They live it up until they dock at the port next to the dreaded Pillman family.[1]
Plot[]
It's Spring Break but for Diaz kids, it means spring cleaning. All the kids are working at Tom's Bait & Bite and they couldn't be more unhappy about it. When Tom mentions that his captain quit delivering a boat to a client at the Sandy Bluffs beach, Harley uses the opportunity to convince her siblings and Suzy that they could use a spring break vacation by delivering the boat themselves. Tom is the last one to get on-board but they convince him by telling him that he could be the captain of the boat. Harley also promises to get Tom a pass to the Yacht Club at Sandy Bluffs.
The Diaz family spring break vacation on a boat begins. Georgie brings Flat Rachel - a cardboard cutout of Rachel since she doesn't want to miss another family vacation. Daphne brings Harley's Magna-Wow - the super magnet that destroyed the swing set[2]. Lewie and Beast come prepared for a treasure hunt. Ethan is planning to have some "E-time" since Chloe is taking a break from him, again. While the rest of the family is having a blast on the boat, Harley is worried that she won't be able to keep her promise of getting Tom to the Yacht club. She feels even more pressured when her dad thanks her before she can deliver on her promise.
Things get complicated when the Diazes run into their rivals, the Pillmans from the waterpark[3]. After exchanging their unpleasantries with the Pillmans, the Diazes carry on with their fun. Harley and Ethan go to the Yacht Club hoping to get a pass for their dad. Ethan runs into Hannah and they go out together to catch up. Mr. Pillman reveals that he owns the Yacht Club, making it very difficult for Harley to keep good on her promise. Harley apologizes to Mr. Pillman for their feud at the waterpark. She explains that she was trying to get her family the perfection vacation and give her dad the chance to come to the Yacht Club. Surprisingly, Mr. Pillman apologizes to Harley too and in fact, invites all the Diazes over to the Yacht Club. The Diazes eat and eat until they can't eat anymore.
While the kids are planning what to do next after eating, Tom and Suzy call for an important family meeting. The parents announce that Mr. Pillman has offered to buy Tom's Bait & Bite for a good amount of money. Even though the kids wanted a break from cleaning Bait & Bite, they don't want to lose it. However, after a few considerations, the kids agree to let their parents sell Bait & Bite. Tom signs the contract to sell Bait & Bite. Mr. Pillman starts showing off his favorite trophy to Tom and Suzy while the kids go on a rowboat ride.
On the rowboat ride, Daphne helps the twins with their treasure hunt by bringing the Magna-Wow super magnet to pull the treasure to the surface of the water. She turns on the MagnaWow to full power. The super magnet is so powerful that it attracts Mr. Pillman's trophy. Georgie turns off the Magna-Wow but it's too late: both the trophy and Flat Rachel have fallen into the water. Losing the trophy makes Mr. Pillman so mad at the Diazes. He tells them that he's going to tear down the Bait & Bite and build a yacht club in Marshport. Harley is disappointed because she thought he would let her keep the Slushy Shack. It turns out she was only going to keep the Slushy Shack as long as the Bait & Bite stands. The Diazes return to Marshport in disappointment.
Back in Marshport, the Diazes unwillingly start packing up their belongings from Bait & Bite, while Mr. Pillman is organizing for a bulldozer to come tear down the building. They remember some of the best memories they've had at the store. They don't want to let it go. While Ethan is showing Harley photos of Hannah Pillman, Harley notices her Dry-Thru invention in the background. It turns out that after the waterpark, Mr. Pillman stole Harley's Dry-Thru and renamed it to "Invisi-Towel" by Pillman Industries. Harley confronts Mr. Pillman about it and threatens to take him to court since she got the invention patented as part of the waterpark prize unless he gives back the Bait and Bite.
Mr. Pillman caves in and tears the contract, allowing the Diazes to keep Bait & Bite. Tom kicks him out while the family celebrates regaining Bait & Bite. After almost losing Bait & Bite, Harley realizes that family isn't just the people; it also includes the place where you spend most of your time and make memories.
Back at the sea, Flat Rachel keeps sinking until she lands into a huge pile of jewels and diamonds. Turns out, there was treasure after all. Too bad, the little kids may never know.
